May 2009: Daddy: Lucy, do you have bones in your body? Lucy: Yeah, look I can scratch my ear with my foot (demonstrates), even though I'm not a dog!
May 2009: Playing "I spy". Daddy: I syp with my little eye, something that's round. I'll give you a hint. Every car has four of them. Lucy: Is it the wheels? Daddy: (Amazed that she got it) Yes! Lucy: Do another one! Daddy: I spy with my little eye, something that's white and puffy. (Expected answer - Clouds) Lucy: Is it Mommy's feet?
Mar 2009: Daddy: Lucy, can you go sit at the table? Lucy: Yeah, I can do that. I won't pull a muscle. And my bones won't come out, either.
Jan 2009: While driving by a house being built, Lucy excitedly asks, "Are they building a FORT??"
Fall 2008: We were helping Colleen (Wade's mom) pick up her campaign signs from her successfully running for County Commissioner. While Wade stepped out for one of the signs, Lucy fell asleep in the car. Colleen: "Someone bit the dust." Lucy, suddenly wide awake again: "What? Mommy? Is daddy going to eat the dirt??"
12/2008: Mommy: "You sure have lots of words." Lucy: "Yep. I bought them at the store. Then I brought them home, and put them in my mouth. That is why I have so many words."
11/2008: Mommy: "I'm hungry. I'm going to eat you." Lucy, in very upset, sad voice, near tears: "No!!! No!!! Don't eat me! Then I'll get be in your tummy, and I'll be stuck forever."
8/2008: Again at dinnertime: Mommy, trying to explain countries to Lucy: We live in Washington, which is in the United States of America. Lucy: Oh (pause). Lucy lives at home. Then, looking at daddy... and you live at work, Daddy. (A clue that maybe daddy is working a lot lately?)
7/2008: Lucy: Oh, no!! It's breaking. It's breaking mommy! My hand... Oh, no!! (Suddenly noticing the lines in her hands while on our way to the store.)
7/2008: At dinnertime. Mommy: Do you remember how we talked about rhyming yesterday? Lucy: Yes! Mommy: Do you think you can rhyme something for me? Lucy: Uh-huh. Mommy: What rhymes with Lucy? Lucy: FOOD!
7/2008: On the way home from watching Wall-E. Lucy: I want a new house. Daddy: Why? Lucy: Because the old one is dirty. (Yes, I need to clean more... although maybe if I clean LESS Lucy can get over her dirt phobia.)
I'm a stay-at-home mother of a 2 wonderful children and love it! I also own a small medical transcription business. My husband works on a team which designs the interior of the Boeing airplanes. We bought a house and are really loving the area, church, and our friends.
